Question Question about UAC and Virus infection.

All along I've wondered how malware could install, on the sly, with UAC fully turned on? How can malware circumvent the dialog boxes??
Naturally, I'm running a current anivirus because I believe in responsible surfing, but I'd love to know.

Malware does not always trigger the need to ask... just like a Virus does not always trigger.

It's like going to the doctor for minor stitches and the doctor uses an infected needle that gives you a fatal disease

Yes, exactly! I also came back to this question as soon as I remembered that there are some protective programs that disable Windows Defender, so of course other security measures could be disabled too. (Too bad we have to be so careful) Thanks for getting back to me on that. It occurred to me afterward that I knew at least one partial answer.
