Thanks Mitch. I am a Norton not liker. But, you have provided new info. So, I won't just reject Norton out of hand any more.

I have no money and 64 bit anti viruses cost money so I have no AV but I will give a prize to anyone who gets a virus on my PC I would appreciate a detailed explaination of which is the best AV for my purchasing requirements

I used F-secure 2007 on Win XP Pro. Sadly, this is incompatible with Vista. However, they (F-Secure) have a beta version from their site called "F-Secure Internet Technology Preview". Catchy title...

F-Secure reccommends F-Secure users upgrading to Vista to download this beta version. Even though a beta, looks and operates just like F-Secure 2007.
Works well with my PC running Vista Business 32bit.

I don't think they have a 64bit version yet.

Are Norton and Mcafee still resources eaters? I'm thinking of trying them out again last time i had Norton & Mcafee was 2005 i think.

I was using F-Secure IS '07 when I was using XP. Though it has a lot of processes (13 I think) it didn't slow my computer down a bit. I did try the Vista beta version but it is only the AV though it says Internet Security. The anti-spam and firewall modules are not included. The final Vista version is supposed to be out in May.

As far as Norton goes, look at my post #20 in this thread. I never thought there would be a day that I would praise Norton, lol.
