ZoneAlarm for Vista

ZA for Vista has been released in the ZASS version and the free version any one running Vista try these the new versions and if so how is the application running. I have read that if you want to use other anti-virus or anti-spyware than what is in the suite you can just turn it off and will not have any issues .

I guess nobody uses ZA or has no opinion

ZA Free Version

I took the chance and installed the free version of ZA and it went off without a glitch runs fast and stealthy and it is offering a free trial from within to the ZA Pro but according to the website it is not yet conpatable with Vista. I also have been told not to use a third part for the download or FF us IE and make sure nothing is running in the background when installing the software which is just common sense

You said is not compatible with Vista, but it works fine; What makes it non-compatible? What happens to Vista's built in firewall, is it turned off automatically once Zalarm is installed? Is Zalarm better than Vista's built firewall and why? Please keep us posted as to well or not Zalarm is doing.

Well for one thing it passes the GRC leaktest or inbound intrusions, and yes it does automatically turn off the Window Firewall on install, and it uses less ram than the built in firewall, also its the Pro version thats not yet available for download which is basically the ZASSuite without the anti-virus. The install is still running smoothly no BSOD or system slowdowns. I have also e-mail CS to see what the deal is about the offer for a 15 day trial of ZA Pro that is offered from the mail screen within ZA free version to find out if in fact the Pro version is working with Vista.

http://www.vistababble.com/forums/vi...alarm-fan.html

June 13, 2007 (Computerworld) --

Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. today launched a Windows Vista version of its flagship ZoneAlarm firewall and blamed the delay on a switch to the new operating system's application programming interfaces (API).

The Vista version of ZoneAlarm, a two-way firewall that will continue to be given away, is the first from a major security vendor to apply Vista's Windows Filtering Platform (WFP) API, said Laura Yecies, the general manager of Check Point's consumer security line.

back is a good report and review on the YUK ZA for Vista... maybe Airman is the only ZA Fan on board... so he might want to read the computer world reports.. and compare.

Thanks Snuffy I have used ZA for the past 8-10 years on 3 different systems from the free version to the Pro and the Suite and have always liked it and had very little problems with any of my installs to date and i just hope they have the Vista version as well put together as the past versions.

Thank you for contacting ZoneAlarm Customer Support.
I understand you would like to know if ZoneAlarm Pro is compatible with
Windows Vista. At this time we don't have a version of ZoneAlarm Pro that
is compatible with Windows Vista.

The ZoneAlarm Security Suite, ZoneAlarm Antivirus, and free ZoneAlarm
are the only Windows Vista compatible programs at this time. Sorry about
the misunderstanding.

The anti-virus is only 32 bit and I do not know of any 64 bit in the future but the free version I am using is working great just like the older version I am using in Xp no problems so far knock on wood. Some systems are running into problems with the ZASS, but I do not use it, because I just think its to much rolled up into one program.
