Dazzlin, I don't know what you see on your side, but when I go to New Posts, I get a listing of old and some new post, 2-pages to be exact. This thread, Retaining New Posts, is not even listed. (see attachment).

Felix, that's the normal screen for most vbulletin setups. (shows new posts since your last visit, and threads that haven't been updated since your last visit, but still have posts you haven't read).

Nevertheless, I've changed it back to the original settings, since it seems to be what most people want.

Dazzlin. It was not a big deal, it just looked different. Also, no matter what you try, you won't be able to please everyone. That’s what makes this forum so great, everyone has different ideas on what things should or ought to be. But thank you much.

Oh, way up there. Tunnel vision you know. Thanks much. Maybe that'll help me deal with the stars.

My problem with it, like the stars, is that it doesn't show that I have read some threads when I have.

What should "New Posts" show now? I see only 5 posts--one of which I have read indicating unread.

So, looking for more feedback from other users. Want me to put it back to the way it was? Or keep it as it is?
Oh. I didnt see that. Looks like you had better put it back as it was.

daz, please put it back like it was. Also, please explain the function of "Mark as Read." Is it just meant to allow one to start again with a "clean slate." Also, please see my question above about what I now should see in "New Posts." I'd like to see only what I have not read.

znod, i'm no vbulletin expert, but i'll explain best i can. Mark as Read does allow one to start with a clean slate - as though you've read everything. New Posts should show only those threads that contain posts that you haven't read yet (based on cookies and time). I've found also that its not always accurate, though. Close, but not quite. If you use the Back key, it won't refresh the new posts, so it will always show the same ones. As for any other glitches...well...blame the people who make vbulletin. LOL.

Thanks daz. OK, so what should "Mark as Read" do? I have been on many forums, and I've never heard an explanation that made any sense.
