Angry access to webmail

i just bought this handy dandy gateway package with vista installed and all the warranties imaginable, but i can't find anyone to help with vista. does anyone know how I can get connected to website that can be trusted? I've added the website address to the trusted sites list, set my security settings to low, disabled the pop up blocker, and i've turned the uac off, but i'm still getting the "There is a problem with this website's security certificate." page
I click on continue to website anyway and get "You are not authorized to view this page"

someone please help...i'm in vista shock

it may be your firewall first try running the program as administrator next try disabling your firewall and see if that works

Send a message via MSN to Snuffy

You might try clicking "Turn Protected Mode On" to OFF. My webmail also had the same problem... reason they were using a OLD Certificate... which IE seen as STOLEN... I sent the info to my ISP, they updated the certificate.
All is OK now... It is your ISP. not Vista...

PS: You might also try another browser...

I don't have an answer for you. But, for future reference, Gateway all-in-the-US support is very good usually. If you don't get an answer that helps the first time, them call back and get a second opinion.

What you need to do is in IE click tools>internet options>advanced scroll down to the section titled "Security" and disable the following three items:

check for publishers certificate revocation
check for server certificate revocation
warn about certificate address mismatch

I am pretty sure there are only 3, but you can check through the list to see if there are any others that mention "certificates" and then disable those as well. There is also a setting on the security tab>custom level "miscellaneous" that has to do with certificates, but I'm pretty sure that one is not for this situation so I wouldn't disable it unless for some reason you have to.

I would not suggest leaving these settings disabled as it could be harmful while browsing the internet on sites that really aren't safe, but it will get you in to check your email. You may also consider using Windows mail to retreive your mail for you so that you don't have this problem all of the time.

BTW you may need to restart IE to make the settings take effect.
