Hi All: I have a puzzlement. Whenever I restart 5384 all my programs open slower than ketchup. But, once I open them all a time or so I get Supervista--with each opening very quickly. It's seems as though nothing is being moved to RAM upon restart without me reminding the system to do so by opening my frequently used programs a time or so. And, actually, right after startup, it seem to me that my programs start slower than they would if they had never been opened before. After sleep everything remains super fast. Admittedly, I never waited very long to see what would happen if I didn't go through my "open-everything process." Is anyone experiencing anything like what I mention? And, does anyone have any thoughts about what might be occurring?

| In the Performance Ratings and Tools window, does it show any Performance Issues at the top of that window? I do, and they all relate to slow startup and shutdown. For instance, one says: Startup programs are causing Windows to start slowly. View Details. The details tell me that Avast is causing the slowdown. I also have some drivers slowing things down (like my monitor). Do you have that on your screen?

| Thanks dazzlin: I have all sorts of things like what you mention on my performance screen. But, my performance values still are decent--3.5, 3.4, 2, and 3.5. The 2 occurs because my integrated graphics setup is not up to Aero. And, the only thing I notice physically is the slow opening of the programs after startup. Startup, itself, seems fast enough. Some of the items tell me, for example, that this, that, or the other is making going to, and coming out of, sleep slow. But, I can't imagine that these processes are particularly slow; they seem fast to me. Oh well???
