Hi Gang: What is the "base device" shown below via Device Manager? I had the same issue in 5536. I am not sure what, if anything, is affected negatively though.

| Interesting. I did not have it until 5536, but "nothing was ever made of it by Vista." This time (5600) Vista really tried hard to find a driver, etc. Go figure.

| Nope not a thing. I found one more person with it and inquiring about it. I told him what I know--essentially nothing.

| I made the "base-system" problem go away by installing the Ricoh R5C832 Chipset Drivers. The 3 Ricoh drivers shown below are the ones that were installed.

| Right, I didn't have the problem in 5472. Then, I could not do an upgrade to 5536--so some drivers ended up not installed. Then, I upgraded from 5536 and they remained uninstalled. Everything that I used worked so I was overly concerned. And, I thought that I had tried installed everything from Dell that worked. But, I am glad I finally figured out what was wrong.
