On battery = no sound

Hi, i have Lenovo T60 notebook with MS Vista Business and i have a following problem:

When the notebook is on battery, sound doesn't work. Nothing goes from speakers or earphones jack. If you plug the AC in, it immediatelly starts to work.

I tried to check if it's muted and searched in power settings and found nothing. Anybody has an idea?

Thanks,
Jacob

I have an idea

In fact I am sure I know what your answer is

However, I am not next to my Vista laptop to check atm

Basically it is all to do with power options. Vista has much more advanced power features than the revious operating systems and so can do some great stuff. Unfortunately they don't tell the users what great stuff there is.

Whilst on battery, go to Control Panel. There you should have a power options link. Click it.

This will show you what power ption you laptop uses when on battery. You can then edit it with the options on the left hand side.

If you choose advanced options you will be able to determine which hardware etc switches off in certain states (you can also determine CP throttling etc).

Post back if you can't find the options required, and I will look at it when I get home in 4 hours
