1. I installed Vista Home Prem. Did you do clean or upgrade?
2. was having some problems. what problems? A poor install or upgrade due to many things can cause all sorts of problems...
3. so I reloaded it and everything seems to be running very smooth besides one problem. Which really does not compute.. (seems? usually means you have doubts in working correctly) and besides one problem? where the one problem (blink to black) is not a problem. it is a normal thing!.
4. How much memory do you have installed?
5. Do you have ANY TWEAKS Installed? or recommendations from other sites installed? (there are many tweaks that are harmful to your system unless you are very adapt with computers...such as Make Vista Faster do this.
6. Have your tried start -> CMD (rightclick and "run as Admin") then type
SFC /scannow. this checks for corrupt system files... and If you can not run cmd as admin... you have a CORRUPT INSTALL.
7. Do you have a DVD to install with or is this a Download program to install with?
8. If downloaded from where did you Download?
9. A list of all devices would be nice...
10. Did you run Vista Advisor prior to installing Vista..?
11. If yes to 10. Did you disable or remove all noted programs or what did you do.

either reinstall from DVD as upgrade or REPAIR. If your program is the DOWNLOAD version...Recommend you DOWNLOAD again. and while DL'g
DO NOTHING ELSE.... SIMPLY DOWNLOAD AND DO NOTHING ELSE...
YOUNG PPLE HAVE a problem with multitasking which can corrupt a download program..
HP is having major problems with the 9000dv series- apparently your version is XP installed and not Vista, which would also have BAD DRIVERS and other NOT compliant Vista programs.
