Blue Screen of Death HUb

Hi i just recentlly installed windows vista ultimate as a clean install. I noticied it was a bit slower than xp, but tht wasn't the major problem. After a few days tweaking and downloading new programs, i started notcing tht it would periodically give me the blue screen of death. This is differetn from typical blue screens in tht it just flashes blue without any word on it. This would happen at any moment either executing installations, copying folders, downloading programs. It didn't matter what i did, it always gave me the blue screen of death. For example, one night i left my computer on the whole night to dl a program, next day in the morning i noticied it had restarted on me. This has happened quite a few times, and im sure its none of the drivers problem. I getting tired of it and might revert to windows xp, so please help!

When did it start happening? Was it after you installed a program? If it was try using system restore (if you still have it switched on), I have run into a few programs that have caused blue screens myself.

Maybe, because a lot of the times tht i get the blue screen i also get" WIndows Modular Installer has stopped working." I personally don't think tht's the problem, because it doesn't mater what i do, it always gives me blue screen from time to time (about 4 times a day)

Sounds like a memory dump due to installation of a uncertified piece of third party software. When Vista crashes, on reboot it produces a report to send to Microsoft so that they may fix the problem... Have you checked your problems and solutions page to diagnose the problem? You may also want to check the performance and reliability monitor as that can show up problem processes.

I agree with Crabby, especially since you mentioned that Vista run slower than XP.

There's also the possibility that your installation is corrupted, in which case you can reinstall Vista…not a clean install, but as an upgrade. That may clear any corrupted file from the system.

After you try the problem and solution page. is answer is NO help.
Some more info on your system would really help. and the best way to tell us about your system is DL and install FREE Belarc Advisor. save the file as:
huangming.computer.txt then please open the file and REMOVE the KEYS for your programs.. then save back and post so we can see... Almost all info will be there that might help.
1..Also make sure you have removed and installed only the recommended WDDM drivers for your devices. easy way to insure is open control panel and delete the drivers... reboot and Vista will install the WDDM Drivers.

2. Have you ran the Vista upgrade advisor? it really if very good. on what program will fail, what might give your trouble... if they recommend you remove the program - remove it... if they say it will give you problems - it will give you problems...
3. How much memory are you running? if more than 2GB remove all over 2GB and see if this problem still continues.

4. Please post back and let us know which you tried and what worked or did not work.

Also just wondering are WDDM drivers Windows Device Manager drivers? And if i delete them do i just delete evry single driver on my comp and reboot.

I have ran the windows upgrade advisor and apparently there are no problems other than it couldnt find data on Acronis True Image Backup Archive Explorer and MagicISO SCSI Host Controller.

1. can you update your bios - 2005 is rather old.
2. I had to remove Magic Iso. Power ISO works AOK.
3. I had major problems with Ad-ware 2007, removed and went back to 2006
4. Adobe Photoshop CS3 - has been having problems with vista

This is all I see at first read, but I will continue to check.
and maybe some others can find other ??? programs .

also seems that your version of OS is packed with major problems I found refence to over 100 pages of problems just by looking under your OS Version: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.256.1
