I cannot get my bluetooth on my computer to be discoverable - every time I go into my settings and check "make my computer discoverable" and try to apply it says "an error has occurred - bluetooth settings could not be saved. The device may not be plugged in or working properly." This is a Sony Vaio runnning Vista Home Premium.... Bluetooth device working properly, it says, drivers up to date... Any ideas what is wrong? |

| Are you using Vista's driver or the bluetooth manufature's driver? Vista's drivers are normally installed automatically when the device is installed. Installation of manufacture's drivers may have to be done manually. If the driver was installed automatically by Vista, download the manufacture driver and try that.

I have downloaded the Toshiba software, and the bluetooth seems to work great if I use their manager. There is still a "bluetooth" settings in my control panel that still shows the same error if I try to use that, but it really doesn't seem to matter - my computer is discoverable, I can find it fine with my PPC. So, thanks.. Anyone ever tried to activesync with bluetooth on Vista - Window Mobile Device Center? I'm trying an Ipaq 4155 - Windows Mobile 2003, and it just won't work - never even starts, no matter what I try. |
