maybe cause all my info was stored on a Different HD.

Yer all very welcome.

This is yet another example of why enabling
hidden files to be viewed is a no-no. I'm
not sure why it's even allowed as such an
easy choice in the advanced configuration
applet.

It really had me fooled into thinking something
was borked in my wonderful Vista Premium that
came with this new Acer notebook.
