The color scheme has been changed.

Toshiba A215-S5837
Laptop
Vista Home Premium 32-bit SP 1

I get the following message:

"The color scheme has been changed.

The folowing program has performed an action that requires Windows to temporarily change the color scheme to Windows Vista Basic.

Program: qttask.exe
Publisher: Apple Computer, Inc.
Process Identifier (PID) 4020

Windows will automatically change the color scheme back to Vista Aero when this program or other programs peforming similiar actions are no longer running".

This laptop is new. It seems to be running good. I don't see any problems. Progams installed are Microsoft Office 2003, MS Frontpage 2003 English, Mozilla Firefox, AOL 9.0VR. I did have a problem installing AOL but that seems to work OK now.

Any idea what the above means and is there a fix? I really don't know if I do have a problem other than the dialog box stated above.

Thanks.

This basically means that the program cannot run in an opengl enviroment. Therefore so that it can run windows reverts to a setting which doesn't have aero.

Simply put, the software developer of the third paerty software should create an update for the program to run correctly.

Otherwise you're stuck.

Problem solved.

I uninstalled Quicktime Player (or whatever player came with AOL).

Dialog box gone. Problem solved.

I had first installed AOL 9.0 Optimized. Mistake as not compatible with Vista. I then installed AOLVR.

I believe the new quicktime alternative is aero compatible. Just google it.
