A friend just told me that he bought a new laptop with Vista on it and every time he does anything on it, it prompts him to answer the question, "Are You Sure You Want To Do That?" Those may not be the exact words, but . . . you get the point. How do you turn that feature off? He's in quite an uproar about it. One IT guy has told him that there's no way to turn it off until Vista comes out with a patch next year or something. I can't imagine that being the case. I've only used Vista one time and I didn't have that problem. Anyway, if you could help me advise a friend . . . we'll both be very grateful.

That's known as Windows Vista User Account Control or UAC for short. It's not as bad as it seems. Sure it could be annoying at time, but after a while, he'll never know it's there.
