Angry deleted files won't delete

I deleted a couple of files a few months back and I just noticed that the pointers are still in the folder. When I choose the pointer and click delete it gives me a "Item Not Found" error... It's not there so I wan't to make it disappear but I can't make it disappear because it's not there! So frustrating!!! Help?

Have you tried deleting from the command prompt?

The Del command is easy to use: http://www.ss64.com/nt/del.html

command prompt can't locate the files. as if they weren't there. When I choose file properties it tells me these pointers aren't taking any disk space and file security information isn't available. It's just an empty pointer that won't go away because the file isn't there.

If the files are gone have you tried to delete the folder itself?

There's a program that can focibly delete non existent files / folders but I can't remember the name of it. Use 'That Well Known Search Engine' and search for 'delete folder no name' and if you haven't found it by tonight I will.

There are a few. You could try this: UNLOCKER 1.8.5 BY CEDRICK 'NITCH' COLLOMB - just install it into the shell, choose unlock and then delete. There are others so come back to me if it doesnt work.
