Drivers not signed my MS so vista wont load...

Ok.. now i know why vista wont boot with my jmicron sata controller..

Now if a driver is not signed by ms vista wont load it and pressing f8 gives you the option to tell vista to load them anyway BUT.. is there an option to get vista to do this when your installing vista?

I stick the DVD in boot from it.. stick in the floppy with my raid/sata drivers for the jmicron363 on it and vista then sees the drive so it starts installing ok.. but then it restarts and then i get a BSOD.. no info about the cause of the BSOD... so i try and press f8 again... but since vista is not yet fully installed after the first restart that option to load unsigned drivers is not showing up!

Anyone got any ideas on what to do so vista will use my unsigned jmicron363 drivers?

Ta Muchy!

Well.. as drivers have nothing to do with bios settings, I wouldnt look there... Are you asking if you can load 3rd party drivers during installation of vista? If so, then I believe you can. When you are at the 'choose where to install' page... just click advanced options and I think it is in there They are definately somewhere!!!

The problem is that Vista does not load the driver. Apparently after installing 3rd party drivers, Vista restart, but after Vista is restarted, it does not load or recognize the driver. At least that's what I get from the posted problem.

thats right felix.. more or less anyway.. thats what the problem seems to be.

Ive looked about the net and ive now read quite a few posts were ppl are getting this same problem.. Boot from vista dvd > cant see hdd > load drivers from floppy > vista see's hdd > vista formats and starts to install > vista restarts for frist time during install > BSOD..

So.. i tryed somthing last night.. when you first boot from the dvd and it says windows is loading files i kept pressing F8 and sure enough the boot option menu for vista poped up and i chose the disable driver enforcment thingy and then went on with the install.. load the drivers from thew floppy so vista can install.. after the first restart i pressed F8 again and chose the same option again but i still got a BSOD.. i then plugged the drive into a standard sata port that dont need drivers for windows to see the dirve and vista booted fine and worked ok... so i plugged back into the jmicon sata controller again and got the BSOD... again! right.. boot from DVD and clicked repair my computer... but it said there was nothing wrong!!

so now im at a dead end.. maybe this is a bug that ms knwo about and it will be fixed in the final release.. i hope so anyway

From the looks of it, it appears it'll get worst before it gets better. If the driver is not signed by Microsoft, Vista is going to reject it. Read this: http://www.darkreading.com/document.asp?doc_id=98989.

I had problems with my SCSI drivers.. Fixed problem by copying drivers onto a HDD that is seen, and first install from there NOT THE FLOPPY.. my 1999 SCSI drivers work that way...
