Hey Guys, The deal is pretty much that I installed Call of Duty 4 on my Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop (Radeon X300 built in graphics card... pretty bad I think) with a nice 2 gigs of RAM and whenever I run the game it works fine... until I decide to actually play the darn thing. I create a profile and select "New Game" and every single time, the opening video starts and plays all the way through. Right at the end of the Opening Single Player Video, my entire screen goes blue in the phenomenon I've come to know as the Blue Screen of Death. I force my computer to shut down and it starts up again just fine... The first time this happened, I submitted an error report to MS and they told me to update my drivers so I've updated all I know to update and now I'm pretty much at a loss. I installed the game on my decent custom built computer downstairs and it gives me a message reading: Error during initialization: Video Card or driver does not support alpha blending. The console also shows up saying the following: ----- Initializing Renderer ---- ----- Client Initialization Complete ----- Attempting 44 kHz 16 bit [Windows default] sound ----- R_Init ----- Getting Direct3D 9 interface... Pixel shader version is 2.0 Vertex shader version is 0.0 Video card or driver doesn't support alpha blending. Error during initialization: Video card or driver doesn't support alpha blending. heh, I'm sorry if this is a tall order from a newby but I'm totally lost, I'm downloading drivers now for this computer but I'm not sure that that is going to help much. Any advice you guys have is awesome! Thanks, Technical Support Executive Last edited by allen6368 : 03-24-2008 at 12:00 PM. Reason: content misspelled |

| Could you give us the exact specs of both systems? I am sure I can work through your problem then. The laptop graphics will most likely be your issue there as it requires a minimum chipset of x1800. But I need more information about the desktop. crabby |
