A few problems

It is all my error. I was downloading and installing a bunch of cool stuff that I found through links here. I played it safe and kept doing system backups with system restore.

Well. my L7680 stopped working and I cant get it working again. I went to system restore and I have now gone through 4 of the restore points it made for me or that I created myself.

It goes through the whole process and when done.. its not. It says it could not finish and no settings have been changed. Try another restore point. I have done that over and over and just get the same message.

I also when I boot get a message asking what OS I want to boot to. I only have one installed. That just started. I had that a while ago and I think it said to edit the boot.ini. I cant find Boot.ini

felix8406 will become famous soon enough

Boot.ini has been replaced by bcdedit in Vista. You can run BCDEDIT from command prompt. Right click command prompt > Select Run as administrator > Type bcdedit /? to see a list of commands.

You should first try booting from the Vista DVD and selecting the repair option.

L7680 your printer... uninstall it, restart the computer and let Vista find it, then install the correct driver... (now if that is not your HP Printer).

Now I'll give you my old IDE 120GB HDD if you can tell me which "Ford" I drive.
(only 1 guess)

If nothing else try this: when booting to the Vista DVD open to the DOS function:
type: System Restore from command line:

rstrui.exe /offline:C:\windows

if you have a restore that works this will restore it.
