Good sound but no video.

Hi, when I try to view videos, especially on www.cnbc.com, the sound is great but just a black screen for the video. Mind you I have no problems with youtube or dvd movies and so forth, just the site I want to view the most. It started when I was playing around to try and record streaming audio and I had to change some settings to keep the audio from stuttering. Since then I have changed the settings back to their original location and still no luck. I have quicktime, real player, MS Media Player etc.... Do I need all these? Some sites wont work without them. I think there may be some conflict between the different players. Any help would be appreciated. I have a Toshiba Sattelite 1.60GHz with 2 gigs of ram and an ATI Radion Express 200m.

Pop-up blockers may prevent a video player from opening. Setting your pop-up blocker to allow pop-ups from CNBC.com will fix this problem. Many pop-up blockers can be modified via a "settings," "options," or "block/allow" button.
My ISP will not allow me to DL the videos.. but they do have a FAQ for you to access...

It looks like the videos are played through flash to me. Have you got the most uptodate flash? And are you using the 32 bit browser?

If its not running on flash try getting the latest video codecs for your media player. i use the Klite codec pack to ensure great playback off almost all video known formats.

Codec pack is here if you want to give it a try.

The website he is trying to use uses integrated video, so there are no options to change the media player etc. I have presumed that other videos work? If not it could be an OpenGL issue.

ok in that case if its integrated into the browser its possible that the flash/windows media palyer/quicktime/real payer could be messing up. try reinstalling what ever program it uses.

It turns out the problem wasn't as bad as we all thought. It was just a setting under Windows Media Player whether or not to automatically detect internet connection speed or define it manually. I orignally changed it to better record streaming audio since it comes best when you specify your connection speed. Thanks for the help though and I'm sure you'll here from me again soon.
