| shut the hell up! you dont have a clue what your talking about!.. your idea of pluging directly into the server is a daft one as everything else works fine.. it seeeems to be some sort of permissions problem on the server... Sorry znod hes an angry person! (my mate david just typed that reply and hes the network know it all, no really he is lol.. but he cant fix this problem!!) |

I might have to edit his post, but, alternatively, I assume you will beat him soundly for me. It looks like my idea is better than his are. But, what I said is why not hook the drive to your computer just to see what happens? I agree that all should be fine, but what if it isn't? Then, there go his ideas as in . Maybe a prayer will help him with his permissions. ![]()

| Surely we all go through the same routine of trying to find the source of problems? With this one we simply see that the issue is a Vista one... we then try and think what in Vista has changed from XP to cause such symptoms... we realise that because it works in safe mode it is either a permissions or driver issue... we note that the network allows access to other drives which negates the driver issue as that would be a universsal access problem... so we end up with a permissions issue? Although I fully respect your mate 'David' I must query his credability if he thinks the permissions issue is server side when XP and safe mode Vista could both access the files. As I don't have the ability to fiddle with your PC and don't know enough about admin/user privledges I would suggest you muck about with it until it works crabby |
