Help!

I just got a new computer and it came with windows vista. This computer is SOOOO slow I want to cry!!! My husband and I bought an additional 512 RAM chip to go into it hoping to speed things up and it did not do anything. I can not remove any of the crappy programs I do not want (AOL, and napster) from my new computer because every time I try It says set up has stopped working. This morning it took 25 minutes to receive 43 e-mail messages and over 5 minutes to refresh a page!!! Please tell me someone on here has some suggestions!!!???? I am ready to take my new computer outback and shoot it! As I sit I am now using my old computer becauuse the new one totally bites!!!

felix8406 will become famous soon enough

What kind of PC did you buy? A new PC shouldn't be giving you such problems, if it is, there's something really wrong and you should take it back to the store. It could be something simple, but you'll never know.

Since you already bought new RAM, try removing the RAM chip your PC came with and just use the one you purchased. If your PC runs faster, then you can deduct a RAM issue. Did you add any new components and if so, can you remove them?

Please give us the specs on your computer, and let us know if you did anything that might have caused the computer to suddenly slow down, etc. Maybe we can suggest a possible fix or so. But, unless you made some sort of nasty user error early on, then, as felix suggests, there has to be something wrong with the computer. In this case, I would talk to customer service ASAP and arrange for a replacement or a refund.

Ah, now I see what's above. Did you try the computer with only your most reliable programs installed? Are any of the programs you have installed known to be incompatible with Vista? What programs have you installed? What was your Vista Experience Index (and sub indexes) right after you formatted and installed?
