| Why are you dragging anything anywhere just to play a cd or game? Simply putting the cd into the drive should autoload it and you're ready to go. Roxio shouldn't be needed for that. I suppose though that you could try uninstalling Roxio.

| if the files are saved on your computer as mp3 or in windows format you will be able to play them and are you telling us that you don't have at least a cd drive on that computer most modern computers have a dvd-r writer yours should have at least a cd-r writer or cd rom drive look in my computer it will show you what drives you have

| I'm confused. Ok, I assume your computer "physically" has a cd or dvd drive...something you actually stick a cd into. So, when you go the Start Orb and Click on Computer, does that drive show up as one of the drives on your pc? If not, then either you've got a hardware issue, in which the drive is not working, or perhaps some sort of driver issue. I still don't think Roxio has anything to do with it, though.

| Roxio should not have anything to do with it. I have not used Roxio for a long time, but drag to disk, as I recall, is for burning to a disk.

| ok here is the info yes I have a cd/rewritier it works with the drag to drop icon,I put a disc in the other day and now it is telling me "no recorder"on the drag to disc icon when I put a cd into the drawer it is telling me the recorder is busy.and then wont play. anyway I did have this problem before and the people at Iqon phoned me and we took the pc back to factory condition,(this is what I did not want to do or I loose all my work and photos (mind I can put my photos onto photobucket and then I can retrieve them again.I think this could be a hardwear problem, and looks like I shall have to go back to the people who made my pc yet again.take ages to get a hold of them too thank you for your help ![]() ![]() |

| Hi Margaret go to the task bar start and right click on computer select properties then select device manager when it opens select DVD/CD drives open it by clicking on it and right click on your CD drive then select uninstall at this point reboot your computer after it has been uninstalled and it will be found again when the computer reboots and reinstalled if you still have the problem you would then be better of backing up your files or your hard drive if you can I use acronis true image for this but you do need a second hard drive for that its always usefull to have a second hard drive to keep these files on any way because most viruses attack C drive and not the second drive also a good quality USB flash drive ( I use corsair flash voyager 16 GB) they come in various sizes 2-4-8-16 GB look at the size of you files and get some thing suitable for you they are very easy to update you would also do better to get a DVD drive so you can backup to that, blueray is even better 25 GB disc's and 50 GB disc's, flash drive or DVD drive probably your cheapest solution for now

| This may be a silly question, but have you tried just rebooting?

| That's what i do if all else fails and a lot of times it works. You now computers are just 1's and zero's and lots of things can go wrong for no reason. I could go on and on about thing that happen but lets get her problem fixed.
