But, I think that things must work pretty much the same way in Vista. Note that a major point is that available RAM is not much of a concern with OS X, and my take is that things are the same way in Vista. Read the whole thing as the best part comes later. The read discusses, in an OS X context, some of the things felix mentioned above.

Thanks for the feedback It appears (perhaps a prematrue ovservation) that Vista is more sophisticated than I thought. I haven't had my system up long enough to observe, but it sounds like the more you use it, the faster it gets.

Your inference is the same as mine. It definitely is true in OS X. But, as said, I have never bumped into a similar write-up about Vista.
