Unhappy Image Preview Thumbnails not showing

Hello
I recently copied all my .jpg (and whatnot) image files from MAC OSX and windows XP to my new laptop which has VISTA. In the explorer window with view set to thumbnails all I see is the photoshop icon instead of the small previews of the images. I realise that in the transferal process I maybe may have not copied hidden thumbnail files (not sure how it works) but what's done is done and I want a quick way of resetting the thumbnails. It's hard to see which files are which. Lamens terms please.

Cheers

Stricken Cracken

If you are talking about the icons; had you tried clicking Views and using the slider to select larger icons? I believe that's what you are refering to, but want to make sure. You may also try this: Right-click the folder > Click the Customize tab > Under "Use this folder type as template:" select Pictures and Videos > Click Apply and OK to exit

Sometimes file-related information is lost when transferring image files from a Mac OS computer to a Vista (or earlier) computer. Did you receive any indication of such losses when you transferred the images. And, I assume that thumbnails are showing up for files created under Vista. Regardless, I am unaware of how you could get the lost information back.

Exclamation To make or Not Make Thumbnails

Two steps to make Thumbnails.

To make this change, click the Organize button on any folder, and choose Folder and Search Options from the menu.

Click the View tab, and then check the Always show icons, never thumbnails checkbox.

Click OK, and you're done.

close down, REFRESH on your desktop.... repeat the same and now check Make Thumbnails....
click OK, and you're done.

Now you should have Thumbnails.

some have come from files on a PC with XP and I've copied the whole folders so any thumbnail info should have come with it - yet the same issue.

hope that helps?
