Hi I have a major problem with my WIndows INstaller in Vista. I can't install/uninstall anything. I have tried many solutions none of which work. I want to re-install Vista without deleting my documents. When I start the installation whilst logged in. It gets to about 13% of copying files and then an error saying that some files could not be acessed and the installer has to close. What can I do to fix this? Thanks |

| Hi I fixed it myself without need of help from Microsoft or formatting. I discovered that in MSIServer I had no ImagePath which meant when I tried to install something it could not find msiExec.exe. I added the path and I can install now. |

| right click your Installer... check the properties. it should point to where the DVD/OS is located. Your using a link or shortcut. the actual Installer is in the DVD or Folder where you have your copy of Vista STORED...

| what program are you using to download with? every program I have used allows you to specify exactly where you want the program to be stored.... to make sure it is some where search for it by name. or a major part of the name.. or the extension. then try start -> search -> *.jpg and every pic.jpg will show up. then simply look to see what folder it is stored in....

| When you download, did you select a place where you wanted the download to be saved? If for some reason you do not know where the files have been download to, start downloading the file again. Not necesarily to download it, but to see where the file would be saved by default. Just start to download the program and select save; you should see where the files are being downloaded to. |
