Unhappy Jpeg thumbnails not showing in vista PLEASE HELP!!!

Could someone please please help me. None of my jpeg picture thumbnails will show in any folders. I have done everything that I can find to do. When I first open any folder containing pictures the thumbnails will flash for about 1 second then turn into an icon and never show again. This makes it difficult for me designing, working in photoshop and so on, because when I open a folder to get a picture, like I said none of the thumbnails show.
I have so far, went in everywhere and made sure the show thumbnails and not icons where checked, and went into the view in the folders and made sure the show icons and not thumbnails was not checked, deleted the iconcache folder to force it to rebuild, ran registry check and repair, tried system restore, and rebooted each time to make sure, with no luck at all. Things that I have created in photoshop and saved as pdf will show up as a lovley little thumbnail, but no jpegs at all.
If anyone could please help me, I would be so greatful.
Thanks

What make and model system video card etc do you have and are you having any other issues and did you download anything before this started happening. I did a Google search for problem and it looks like you have tried all of the obvious. I am still searching maybe we can find a solution.

When I do under Device Mgr., Display Adapters, it's NVIDIA Geforce 6100 nforce 405. Is that it?
I'm not having any other problems at all, none. Just this crazy thumbnail thing. I went and looked to see if anything had been downloaded recenlty, the only thing was Itunes, and uninstalled it to make sure it wasn't that, or something else that came along with it when installed. But, still no dice. The only thing that I do recall unistalling recently was some program for codecs call G-Spot, I don't even know who put it there. This computer is nearly new, I just bought it new in November, 07, so it's only a few months old. But, others in the house have used it.

So, I dont know if the gspot codec is what done it, if it is, I don't know where it came from.
Like I said, the pictures/thumbnails flash for a second then they're gone, but everything else shows up. And I'm not having any other video troubles. Once I open the pics, they show fine.

Thanks for helping me!!! This is driving me nuts. Hope to hear from ya soon!!

Gspot are some codec files written by some guy and how you got them is a wonder unless they are related to itunes or something else someone llse downloaded look for an uninstall in add and remove programs but I do not think you will see one and look for a download of them in your download files the were beta up until version 2.70a maybe you needed those codec. Under system and advanced performance under let Windows adjust for best performance there is a box to show thumbnail for icons is that one checked to.

Yes, that one is checked too for thumbnails too. I can't find how the gspot got on here, it wasn't on here, and then all of a sudden it was. I never had a problem before it was on here, but it makes me wonder that now it's gone, I'm having this problem. I can't find anything in my downloads.
I'm totally clueless how it got on here, I downloaded another codec pack to see if that would help, but it didnt.

I am at my witts end trying to fix this. I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel! I hate to have to take my computer back to factory settings for these thumbnails, but I seriously depend on them a lot.

What else do you think? please let me know.

Which version of Vista are you using? I am asking do you have office 2007 installed and if so in the office picture viewer do you see thumbnails. I am under the understanding that you did have the thumbnail working sometime in the past? Do you have separate user account for the other users that you log onto with each others user name? Make and Model of the computer example HP or Dell?
