Media player 11 issue

Whenever I play a video file at full screen in Vista RTM's Windows media player 11 and I select one of the fullscreen buttons and the button information appears, my video slows down and doesn't syncronize with my audio, which keeps playing perfectly at normal speed. If the button info dissappears the video speeds up to get in line with the audio and after a few seconds everything works perfectly again. Does anyone know why this happens, I'm not having it if I watch the video in non-fullscreen mode. I'm running vista without Glass, so maybe that has something to do with it?
Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated...

Like with Media Center, the fullscreen mode is fully accelerated, which could be your issue. What file type are you playing and have you tried playing other files?
