Microphone input issue

I have been working my way through the tutorial and learning Adobe Premier Elements 3.0 (update 3.0.2 - Vista) and I am unable to use either the microphone on my Logitech QuickCam Fusion nor the one on my sound card.

There is a selection box which allows me to select either or both under:
Preferences-->Audio Hardware-->ASIO settings. But selecting either yields no audio in the Narration track.

Anyone have any ideas??

PS - I can select Sound-->Recording Devices and they both appear. Selecting one or the other and running configure yields audio in the Setup Microphone Wizard.

crabby is on a distinguished road

Strange that windows can use the mic but programs can't. Have you tried the quickcam software just to see whether it affect all third party software? Once you have chosen the default mic are there settings within Adobe Premiere which you can alter? Have to tried reinstallin gonce you have the default setup?

Crabby: It isn't that programs can't, Microsoft Movie can use both the Quickcam and the sound card microphones just fine. I did some additional research on Adobe's Forum for Premier Elements and discovered that this appears to be an Adobe bug.
