What are the other PCs running? you might have to put them all into vista I remember when I first got XP and I had one PC in 2000 and one in 98 the XP could see everything and everyone but I had various problems with the other two until I put them all on XP.

PS
Check the permissions on the share

I have been able, with little difficulty, to network, back and forth, with our desktop XP Pro and my Tiger iBook. I wish I was using my vista drive so I could look around for you. Given that I am not using it now, my modest advice is to check out all the networking controls in the control panel--making sure that they are set to the least restrictive settings. Then, if things work out, try reactivating the essessentials--and down the line like that.

Also just remembered that vista is runing TCPIP Version 6, so look up how to configure it, or look at the properties for you LAN connection and disable the Version 6, in my case I had two TCPIP the old one and the Version 6 and I couldn't get internet with version 6 enabled but once I disabled it everything was flying as usual.
