Question New BUG in Vista - Vista Bitdefender is

Be aware that this might happen. currently there is NO KNOWN reason.

1. Windows BitDefender will stop working.
2. MS will send you a Solution found.

Quote:
Problem caused by Bitdefender Antivirus
This problem was caused by Bitdefender Antivirus. This program was created by Bitdefender. Bitdefender does not currently have a solution for the problem that you reported.
Recommendation

A newer version of Bitdefender Antivirus is available for download that might address this problem. Bitdefender recommends updating to the latest version of Bitdefender Antivirus to take advantage of security and stability improvements.
Go online to the following website to update Bitdefender Antivirus:
Bitdefender
The link points you to
http://www.bitdefender.com/site/Main...d-Patches.html

When you check with MS on there updates site you will find you "Are Up to date".

This report is being followed with many then have a BSOD with notification that NDIS.sys failed at Address: xxxxxxxxxxxxxx located at:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
time and date stamp: xxxxxxxxxxxx

What does Windows Defender have to do with your System Index (?) running at 2.86.

If you do not want to use Windows Defender turn it off...(see below)

I too have had this problem. It's driving me nuts. I did not install Bitdefender, and I have no desire for it's existence on my PC. I have found some references to it in the registry, but deleting them made no difference. I have also run the Bitdefender uninstall software, with no luck. I can find no other reference to it throughout the system. I've been lucky to avoid the BSOD, but it's preventing me from running software that is important to me. Not sure what to do now.

No, not yet. I've got a workaround for the app in question at the moment, and I cant be bothered with the hassle of yet MORE installing, so I'll see how I cope for the moment.

Thanks anyway, tho.
