I have a laptop and a desktop. The latest update from Microsoft continues to fail to install. I went to the help and followed the directions to delete the download history and the latest update files and tried again with no luck. Any one else have this problem? Thanks, Chuck |

| You should also. REBOOT after you do the above... then REMOVE all cookies. if the autoupdate failes, then manually DL and install. If you do not REBOOT then much of it is still held in memory... REBOOTing is mandatory, can not see why MS missed that... http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

| My problem is a little different. I went to shut down last night around 9:00pm EST and a screen pops up stating that it is installing a Windows update. I'm guessing that this is the auto-update feature of Vista? As of 6:45 this morning, it's still on the same screen. On the screen it states not to shut down or unplug the computer while the update is occuring. I am running the Premium Home version of Vista. Should I just power down and reboot when I get home tonight? |
