I set up a new computer today, it all works fine except for the fact that I have no sound. Well, I try to play any music file in windows media player and it says that it is playing but no sound comes out of my speakers, which are all set up and plugged in correctly. Now, occasionally, while the song is supposedly playing, I will hear the music for 1 second and then it stops. The song is still playing, according to the player. So, the sound primarily does not work but I get occasional bits of the song. Sound does not work in any games, music, anything. Audio cards info Speakers (Creative SB X-FI) SPDIF Out (Creative SB X-FI) I tried looking on creative.com for drivers, but I did not know which one to choose. If someone can please help me, it would be greatly appreciated. I want to be able to hear.. :/ |

| Welcome. I think the driver would be this one: http://us.creative.com/support/downl...pe=0&x=19&y=13. It appears to apply to all the SB X-Fi's. Happy listening.

| I assume that you have checked the settings in Control Panel > Sound.

| Could be a dodge speaker wire, it sometimes happens to my speakers when the wire has been pulled a Little, its more common in headphones but it does happen to speakers as well

| I have that card and it works perfectly. Right click the sound icon near the clock and go to 'playback devices' and make sure the devices are set correctly. Have a play with the config etc crabby |
