| This Windows Vista will not run any of my applications other than the ones that were written by Microsoft. I do not need an operating system that does not allow me to do what I like to do on my own computer. I had to spend hours reformatting my hard drive and reinstalling Windows XP so I could at least do something useful. And it is not like I am some kind of scurvy software pirate. All of the apps that will not run under Vista are legitimate ones. A few of them I purchased retail and a lot more of them came bundled with the hardware I purchased. And what they have in common is that they are not compatible with Vista. I have four computers. A main PC, a notebook, a home theater PC hooked up to my smoking 1080P monitor and an Apple which does not figure into this discussion. I may reformat my notebook for Vista since it is not very good for gaming or DVD viewing in the first place. It is just a Celeron with two 2Gb of memory so it more than meets the minimum requirements. I can use some of the whiz bang Vista features on that one but I would not even think of using Vista on one of my main computers knowing what I know now. |

1. What speed is your Celeron? 2. Did you run the Vista upgrade advisor? 3. What program's in reference are you talking about.? The reason I ask is the only real problems I have with Vista, SCSI drivers are not available, (i use 3d party) and my HSP v92 Modem (needs 3d party drivers).. and all of my XP ONLY games work well in Vista.. in fact better than in XP...
