| First we need to know if it's your camera or the USB port. Had you tried connecting any other USB devices to your PC? If the anser is no, then get a USB device and connect it and see if it works. Last edited by felix8406 : 09-23-2007 at 08:17 PM. |

| More info on your system also. 1. are your ports USB 1.1 for USB 2.0? 2. What is your camera? name model will help. 3. is it Vista-works or Vista compatible?

| I can not find that the Sony VX2100 is compatible or even works in Vista. Using the HCL site. http://winqual.microsoft.com/HCL/Pro...id=302&sv=sony from the Sony Site.. on the DCR-VX2100. It is still in Question. http://esupport.sony.com/perl/news-i...&mdl=DCRVX2100 Here are some clips- but I suggest you review this site. READING VERY CAREFULLY. to see if you want to continue or take it back and get a Camera that is GUARANTEED to work.. in XP and Vista. Quote:

| o thanks man. i came up with something tho. i have an external hard dirve and another computer in my basement. i was wondering if i took my external downstairs and uploaded all my footage onto there, then brought it back upstairs and edited it with Sony Vegas. Sony vegas works on my computer right now, would it work differently after i upload the footage onto it? thanks a bunch! |

If you can transfer your "footage" to an external hard drive and then connect the hard drive to your upstairs’ PC, that should work...as long as the hard drive is recognized.
