I have a problem with a page fault error in a non paged area after the first restart when installing Vista from the MS DVD, my system meets requirements for running Vista, though when I first encountered this problem I had mismatched ram, this is fixed with two twinmos 512mb ddr 3200 modules. I have run the Vista memory tool, memtest 86 and they both report no memory problem. Any clues? |

| Hmmm...I'd still suspect a ram problem. What I'd probably do is wipe everything clean and install XP and see if it has a problem as well. If not, then I'd probably try upgrading from XP to Vista at that point. If, however, XP also has a problem, then I'd suspect the new ram.

Thanks for the prompt advice, however I'm attempting to install over XP Home, XP runs without issue and all updates are installed. When attempting to install Vista, everything seems to run well until the 1 st reboot, I'm wondering if the non paged area may refer to memory in use by system graphics, my base system is a compaq presario, with an ATI sapphire radeon 9550 installed, but the motherboard has no setting to disable onboard graphics. Could the issue be with the 32mb system ram still available to the unused onboard graphics? Any ideas on disabling the onboard graphics, in particular disabling the use of shared memory? I'll check the HP website myself again now, but any input greatly appreciated. ![]() |

| Ah, I see. First I would try to disable the onboard graphics via the BIOS (hit F10 when booting up). If there's no option there, then try disabling it through the System Manager. Good luck!
