Arrow Photo upload problem(s)

Not sure this is the correct place for the problem I'm having but right now I'm becoming very frustrated.

First encountered the problem when I tried to upload a photo to one of my MSN groups. The upload process produced the following message: "You have a new image format in this folder." Followed by "The converter is downloading..." and it showed the folder as being empty.

Today when I joined this forum and tried to upload a small picture to go in my profile (76x100 22.3KB jpeg) it came back with "This is not a valid image file".

I'm running RC1 with it's default internet explorer. Is the problem Vista, IE or MSN?

Can someone point me to a solution?

Ferg

Can you open the pic on your computer and see it? (Just making sure it really is a valid file)

Yes I can open the picture file on my computer. It's just uploading that doesn't work. I tried various photos both jpeg and bmp with the same results.

It is apparently an IE7 bug/issue. I have been unable to find a universal solution of any kind I would suggest lowering security/privacy/content options. I would also suggest trying a different browser as a temporary solution (Firefox - http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/product...win&lang=en-GB)

Yes, agreeing with crabby, my suggustion is to try Firefox. I have never had an upload problem with any version of Vista when using Firefox.

I just finished downloading Firefox and installing it. My first attempt at uploading a photo was sucessful so it does appear to be a problem with Internet Explorer. I've never used Firefox so it could mean some learning is in order, if I decide to keep it.

I have yet to find a way to report this problem to Microsoft so my hope is that they're aware and will eventually provide a fix.

Thanks for your help.

Just as a footnote to using firefox. To increase your security while browsing, grab the 'noscript' add-on (tools->add-ons->get extensions)

Yep..there are more security flaws in Firefox than IE7 so make sure you have all their security patchs and Crabby's recomendations.

I don't know what the problem is with IE, but I've been able to upload any kind of pic ext, including .png. And my IE settings are at default.
