i have a gateway computer Genuine intel (r) cpu t 2050 @ 1.60 ghz 1.60 ghz (dont know why they put that twice but they did so i listed it twice for you guys.memory(ram) is 2080 mb 32 bit operating system i have a sigma tel high definition audio CODEC ( device driver) i guess Problem: when i had xp on this mechine I had sound,since i have installed vista, now it has a X over the speaker symbol and when i hold the mouse over the speaker symbol with the red x on it, it give me a message that says "no audio out put devices is installed. could some one put this answer in newbie terms please. again thanks for any and all advise i get , cuase i know you guys have better things to do that help. people that dont have a clue, like me. ![]() |

| Two things: Rick click ‘Computer’ > Select Properties > Device Manager > Click Sound, video and game controller and tell us what you see. Next go to Control Panel > Switch to ‘Classic’ view > Playback tab > tell us what its showing. |
