Problem with installs

I just got office 2007 and I hate trying to use it because every time I open it it configures for about 15-20 seconds before it opens, my outlook does the same thing when I recieve an email, iTunes (which since Im purchasing another computer Ill never install again) does the same thing. Im sure its because Im dumb and theres something I need to do but Im not the best with computers. If there is a simple fix, what is it? if theres a complex fix, what are the steps?

thanks for any help,
Skot

Your having problems, I agree... Sorry to hear about them all.

1. iTunes, there is a FIX on the upgrade site....You might also have to special ask for it... via control panel, windows update, then actually click
"check for updates"
2. Office 2007 more info needed. Is Office a Clean install or upgrade?
3. Office 2007 config also deals with Outlook... so upgrading and/or cleaninstall makes it different..

above link has other links to assist in Office 2007 and Outlook and how to

ok, please dont lose patience with me, I feel like an idiot because I see his step by step process here but still dont get it, I already have the enterprise version, so I dont need to get the beta version, I have no reason to download it.. but I dont have the Management console he is talking about, I tried figuring out if I could download just that and dont see much of anything, again, Im sorry for being one of those idiots no one wants to help. thanks for (hopefully) not giving up on me,
Skot

No problem, basically Office 2007 has a bad habit of not upgrading very well.
recommend you uninstall Office 2007, then reboot... then Clean Install Office 2007.
Move all the files to a different directory before you uninstall... emails and all if you want to keep, then remove, after you reinstall you can move all the files back.. or import them from the moveto place.

ok, so I did as you said and uninstalled. When I reinstalled, it comes back up with all my stuff though? How exactly is it doing this? I didnt move anything. I assumed it would be deleted... I took it to the IT guys at work and they couldnt help me, I have the dell support still and I was trying to ask them and they were useless. oh yeah and, Once again how should I go about trying to get rid of this install everytime? if I cancel the install it still opens just fine.

When you removed Office 2007, did you reboot? or did you shutdown for 3 mins then restart or did you do none of the 2.

Exactly how did you remove.. Office 2007.?

I just uninstalled and restarted. Just recently I was told that Norton could be causing it somehow, being that I dont like Norton anyhow I deleted that and Im going to uninstall now and reinstall and see if it helps.
