Problem with Vista MCE sound

I have a problem when I play a cd using Vista Media Center. The sound is trashy and the cd speeds up and slows down during play.

I suggest Winamp. WMP 11 was absolutley awful for me. The sound was so bad I could not listen to it (no exagerating...).

Welcome to VB.

I have NO PROBLEMS with WMP 11, or WCE while playing Music or Movies,
but I also have 2GB DDR Memory. Who much Memory do you have.
I also use a program which enhances the DVD Players if I am playing or using them for movies or music.

I have noticed on a FEW older CD's or DVD's that (spin up and down) I can almost always stops this: CLEAN the Player, Clean the CD/DVD.
success rate: about 99.8%. The rest I simply switch to a older slower rated player...

felix8406 will become famous soon enough

You did not mention whether or not this PC came with Vista already install, that would help us to provide you with a clear solution.

You may want to check this article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929461/en-us.

Another thing you may want to do is to upgrade the CD-ROM firmware. Go to the CD-ROM nanufacture website.

CD Gone Filter.

Reference makes this: if you not sure copy and paste exactly with notepad or word, save as CDFiltergone.reg (This is from Beta Testing Days.. which I was sure they had fixed...
This works on XP and/or Vista
