Hello everyone. Thanks for reading. let me preface by saying I am adequate with windows basics but very new to Vista. That being said, here is my problem... My laptop is 1 month old...I have installed basic things on my machine thus far such as Itunes, photoshop and all of the latest windows updates. A few days ago whenever I try installing updates with windows,HP or drivers for Adobe etc I get the following messsage.... "Another program is being installed. Please wait until that installation is complete, and then try installing the software again." I have checked my task manager and see nothing out of the ordinary. when I go into my programs via the control panel and try to remove a program, I get the same message. I have scoured the web looking for a fix but cannot find one. Has anyone out there experienced this problem before? I am running windows Vista ultimate and a 64 bit machine if that matters. Thank you in advance for your help Mark |

| Clear out all your temp directories and try again. Otherwise, download and install a program (if you can) such as Ccleaner and run it. It will clean up any superfluous programs. Also look in Msconfig and see if something is under the startup tab that should not be. If so, untick it. (Type Msconfig in the Start box) |

| Cool problem! It sounds like an installation didn't exit the installer correctly. Use this nifty little program to find out what it is and get rid of it. Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility crabby |
