Problems with upgrade

I just upgreded from XP pro to Vista Ultimate. The list of problems has no end. I can not open any of my files. My address book can not be found. My desk top has been, for the most part deleted/removed and programs such as word can not be found.

Can anyone tell me how to uninstall Vista a return to XP pro?

Not yet. How did you install Vista? You may be able to get things working.

But, OK, you'll have use youir XP CD to format your dirve and reinstall XP. There is no other choice.

first and foremost we need to take things one at a time.
as other post says.
what is computer?
what date is the Bios?
what programs did Vistaupgrade advisor tell you would fail?
what are you using for mail?

again 1 problem at a time> and some one here will be able to help. you might even get more help than you actually want.

felix8406 will become famous soon enough

If you did a clean install over Win XP, Vista created a windows.old folder. You can use that folder to get your computer back to your Win XP system. Go to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927522 for instructions.

If that's not the case, then you can try an in-place upgrade. Simply start your PC, insert your Vista DVD, run setup and choose upgrade. I suggest you disable or install your virus software. I've had bad experiences when installing software when a virus software s running.
