I connected my Dell 420 laptop running Vista to a NEC projector. When the laptop starts for the first time, the NEC projector works fine if it is set to display the same contents on the laptop and on the screen. But when I set the display to work for the projector only, the screen is set to 8 bit automatically, I also get this message "Set to Vista Basic color scheme" and and the screen looks fuzzy. I tried it two times rolling back to old drivers and updating the drivers, but no luck. I would appreciate any suggestions to solve this issuse? |

| Which NEC Projector? must be a thousand different models listed. Have you ask DELL? Have you updated your drivers? Which version of drivers are you using?

| You may want to try to install the driver manually...it worked for me. Go to Control Panel, select Add Hardware (tip: use classic view). When ask "What do you want the wizard to do?, select to install the hardware "manually". Select Display Adapter and click next. Now select the manufacture and model, which windows will display for you and click next to finish the installation. Once the installation is completed go to device manager and it should show two devices installed under Display Adapter. Now try using your projector. |

I installed this "Mobile Intel 945 GM Express Chipset Controller 0 (Microsoft Corporation – WDDM)" version 7.14. 10.1103. dated 8/21/06. driver, and it solved the problem. Apparently, a newer version of this driver didn't work with Vista. Thks everybody for the help. |
