| Several times I have found a increase in BOOT TIME. and ea time when I start checking, I find I have (new devices) installed in my system... Devices due to some strange new way that Vista is looking for devices... 1. you can open control panel, system view devices and see if you suddenly have any yellow warning markers. I have found 1 occasion found 4 new networking devices- ISATAP entered 4 times and suggestion to open problems and submit to MS for a solution. I can not submit due to MS says there is no problem. 2. the next time i had this problem i found 2 6TO4 devices. 6TO4 Adapter ISATAP In properties, both say "Windows cannot load drivers required for this device (Code 31)". Clicking Update Driver returns message "The best driver for this device is already installed". Yet the yellow warning says NO DRIVER.. What I do is delete the new found devices... then reboot. so if you find suddenly a extra time in booting... you might check this to see if SP1 added new devices to your system... PS: These new devices now show in Belarc and EVEREST Ultimate. checking via search engines.. this is occurring in both x32 and x64 versions. also in XP and Vista as well... could this be MS attempting to further implement IPv6, since it seem to happen for often when I uncheck use IPv6 on my ISP as requested by my ISP, every time they appear IPv6 has been reset...
