| You can edit the registry, but beware that doing this may cause your system to crash. 1. Click Start, type regedit, and press the Enter key. 2. On the left pane,select the following key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Policies. 3. If you don't see an ‘Explorer’ subkey, right-click Policies, select New > Key and name the key Explorer, and press <Enter>. 4. Right-click the Explorer key, select New > DWORD Value. 5. Name the DWORD Value MaxRecentDocs, the press <Enter> twice to save the name and edit the value. 6. For the Base, select Decimal and for the Value data, type the number of items you want shown, then click OK. 7. Exit the registry and reboot your PC.

| As far as I know, that's the only way to make it work. You may try rechecking the register key entries. Other than that, I really don't have a clue. Sorry it didn'twork.
