Screen Flickers

I'm running Vista Business 64x on a 64x dual core AMD 2GB system with an nvidia 6100 video card.

Since the install my screen has been constantly flickering. I tried all the usual suspects. I updated the video card driver, and even went to the nvidia website to get the lates 64x vista compatible driver. I lowered my screen resolution, and refresh rate. Nothing worked.

Here is the interesting part. When I go into the new "hibernate" mode, and come back out of it everything works great. Not one flicker until I do a restart, and then I have to go in and out of hibernate to fix the problem again. This is really getting old.

Any suggestions appreciated.

There seems to be quite a few issues which are solved by hibernating The other things I have seen solved are network related. You might want to update your motherboard drivers?

felix8406 will become famous soon enough

The issue could be the monitor itself. How old is the monitor? If possible, try another monitor and see if you can duplicate the issue.

Screen Flickers or jagged line on boot, then fails to display, reboots all sort of errors listed, many tests and guess what the 30 day return policy, and warranty for life time on NVIDIA by name, not generic but honest NVidia 7300 Video cards is FAILING... VIDEO Problems and you have a NVidia (Name) card... junk it,
$123.95 and its junk... Now they say REMOVE and return with RMA request, and copy of original receipt, and we will have you a tested or new replacement in 4 to 6 weeks.... CRAP on NVidia Next time I'll buy from some store for more money and I can drive 65 to 125 miles and return for NEW...

OK Warranty is Voided..I removed the FAN which was jerking-failing-noisy... removed the NVIDIA sticky covers.. top..(nothing) removed the fan (3 small screws), removed the bottom cover, removed the rubber cover, removed the 2 small magnets, placed 1 drop of "special silicon lubricant" in the hole, moved the aperture with a probe, then fan moved smoothly... replaced all covers... "broken seal that voided warranty and restarted... no jerking, no jagged lines, no blotches of color... just fast boot and all seems AOK...
