| I have AVAST Free, MSG Messenger, Hot Mail Desktop, DU Meter, Bit Defender, Nero AG InCD, Google, Pt Voice and a Registration reminder... ( start -- type Config and open system config and view startup) this does not include all the Services... just extra programs... and I can shutdown in less than 30 sec.. and when I say total that is from click shutdown to the lites and fans go dead...I can check my Acer Laptop(again) and it does not take but 1m10sec and it is a XP SP2 update How much memory do you have in the Laptop? My Desktop... every day I have 18 to 20 ID:100 warnings and average 2 or 3 ERRORS. (106 and 203) and maybe 1 Critical 203 Error... either some program conflicted with another one... Defrag and Email at the same time... cause an Error... Defrag is set to automatic and Email is Automatic, and 3 error every time anything MS related is not set to AUTO Signin... and ID :100 is non existent in the Vista Data Base... but every error critical or warning tells you what program it is or was that created the problem... (so you can read your self what the problem is) sample from : Quote:

| You do have many issues. One thing I suggest you do is to run a registry cleaner, if you haven't done so...there could be many issues there. Try Advanced Windows Care, http://iobit.com/AdvancedWindowsCarePersonal/index.html, it's free and it will also check for Spyware and more. Use a different anti-virus application; you can download Avast for free, it has worked great on this side. Check for new drivers for any piece of hardware that you have. Use Belarc, http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html, it can tell you everything about every piece of equipment you have in your PC. |
