hello all, i have a windows vista ultimate, and my problem is when i go to sound in control panel and click the recording tab, it freezes and i can't do nothing

Click the Star button > My Computer > Properties > Device Manager > Sound, Video and Game Controller and see if your Audio Device is installed. You may have to download the driver for your sound card.

ok i got it to work, i just reinstalled the drivers
