Soundblaster issues

I am having major problems with Audigy 4 Pro under Vista. Worked fine for about 3 weeks, then when trying to record last night, my smart recorder made the recording devices "unavailable".
I have checked it is connected properly, tried re-installing the drivers from the Creative site but still doesnt work.
Daft thing is, it is kind of working as when I play my keyboard synth normally through my soundcard/speakers, it works. Just looks like my recording devices won't work.
Anyone any ideas? Thanks.

Unhappy Audigy 4

I to have problems with the Audigy 4 (Vista Drivers) and have been told to buy a new sound card, Vista not like this card! I will buy a new one when funds permit. Anybody know which one would be best for Vista!

Creative see $$$ so don't support the Audigy 4 and instead pile their money into the X-Fi. Interestingly the Audigy 2 works fine

Hi All
I have Sound Blaster X-FI Extrememusic. There latest drivers from May 2007
do not work. All I get is static from my speakers. The old drivers from March work great. Not to impressed with Creative.

Wink Bluegears!

Hi Airman, thanks for the tip, i have looked them up and read a great review, so will have a good think! I have always used Creative and have had very few problems, but this one stinks. I shall buy a new one and will go for the Bluegear Engineer.
Have Fun

felix8406 will become famous soon enough

I found this and it might work: http://www.softwarepatch.com/utiliti...vista-2-4.html.

One suggestion: Uninstall the previous driver prior to installing the new driver: Right-click 'Computer' > Select Properties > Device Driver > Right-click the device and select Properties > Driver tab > Select Uninstall. Delete any folder(s) or file(s) that relate to the driver, e.g. temp files.
