Ok... for some reason unknown to me. When i open steam the whole system slows to a crwal... the mem and cpu usage are at round %50 mem and 5% - 30% cpu so cpu load cant be the cause. When i finaly manage to get the task manager open and close steam all returns to normal.. somtimes i have to restart but closing steam sorts it out..

Anyone got a clue as to what steam is doing to cuase such a slow down? Never had this problem on the older builds.

I'm curious, why are you still running Vista 5600? I don't know anything about steam, but 5600 had, and probably has, a lot of issues. Also, 5744 still a Beta, it has many improvement and might run Steam just fine. Znod posted in this forum information on how to get it. Just a suggestion.

I had the same issue for 5600... to upgrade PM me for a link (gimme your prefered build number). I can only give you guys torrents right now as I have no way to host my files
