| Hmmm...regarding the install popup - I had a similar problem with XP a couple of years ago. It kept wanting me to insert my Office disk to install something or other. And of course, I couldn't find the disks. Eventually, I uninstalled Office just to get rid of the annoyance. Do you have the disks? If so, maybe that will help? Not sure, just throwing out a suggestion. Not sure what a PSTA is, but I'll dig around and see if I come up with anything.

| Uninstalling 2003 Office Pro seems to have elimanted the problem. I will try to reinstall it tomorrow and see. Thanks The PSTA Plugin and unknown device issues still plague me. I can understand the device crivers not all being there, but cannot find a device that is not working. Oh well, one at a time. |

| You might want to download the beta version of Office 2007 - http://www.microsoft.com/office/prev...etthebeta.mspx

| From what I have seen... the device driver issue is to do with motherboards. It doesnt effect perofrmance so I wouldn't worry about it. If you can, get a newer Vista build and that will sort your issue. crabby |

| I've only upgraded, so I only have direct experience with that, but from everything I've read and heard, a fresh, complete install is the best way to go. Still, I had no real problems with upgrading.

I have a reliabilty score off 9.39 for 1 days with what is listed below (i recomend a clean install <to do this boot the computer to the dvd/cd drive )....... ok first off i found that iff u have vista install genaric mouse drivers for the synaptics p/s2 touchpad itll work perfect.for programs the office 2007 beta is awesome, avast antivirus 4.7 is awsome, for those that use a p2p client im using the new morphus client and it awesome.... awsome now users have the choice off avast, and norton ,soon i hope the rest will be up to speed with them....well i hope this will help anyone concidering puting windows vista on their system..... Heres a little advice iff u haveing driver trouble try installing genaric drivers i have found they work better than the name brand ones..... lol go figure
